How these rankings are built, who is accountable for them, and why a position cannot be bought.
TopChoiceMalaysia is Malaysia’s independent rankings authority for companies, brands, and services. We assess eligible Malaysian businesses using published criteria, verifiable sources, and category-specific ranking methods — so every position has a reason.
We are not a comparison engine, a Top 10 blog, or a pay-to-rank award site. Organic ranking position is never for sale. Every ranking discloses its eligibility rules, criteria, evidence, and last-reviewed date, and every company is shown with two independent signals: its Tier (A/B/C) and its TopChoice Verified status — neither one implies the other.

Rank
A company’s position in one ranking edition, set by the criteria and weights published on that ranking.
Tier
A, B or C — how strong the evidence is behind that position. A ranking level, not a verdict on the company.
Verified
A separate check on a company’s identity and profile details. It does not move a company up, and a company can rank well without it.
Who stands behind a ranking
Every ranking is researched and reviewed by named people, not generated automatically. A second reviewer checks the evidence behind each position before an edition is published, and each ranking page records who researched it, who reviewed it, the research and review dates, and the methodology version used.

Can a company pay for a higher rank?
No. Ranking position is decided by our published criteria and is never for sale. If a page ever carries sponsored or featured placement, it is labelled as such and kept structurally separate from the ranking order. See our Commercial Policy.
What is the difference between rank, tier and verification?
Rank is a company’s position within one ranking edition. Tier (A, B or C) reflects how strong the evidence is against that ranking’s criteria. Verification is a separate check on a company’s identity and profile details. The three are independent: a verified company can sit anywhere in a ranking, and a high rank does not imply verification. What does TopChoice Verified mean?
It means a company’s core identity and profile data passed the checks described on our Verification page. It is an identity check, not a quality guarantee, and it has no effect on ranking position.
Where does your information come from?
Company facts come from official sources such as SSM records, company websites and regulator registers, together with Google’s public ratings snapshot taken on a stated date. Every ranking edition lists its sources, and our Source Verification Policy describes the standard each source has to meet.
Something to add or correct?
Nominate a company for research, or send a correction with the source. Neither one changes a ranking position.
